If you are looking for a different cuisine -- other than Filipino, Chinese, or Japanese -- that is still comforting and with familiar taste, then Nanyang is a great option! They offer Singaporean favorites that are true to its core. You know how Singapore is a mixture of Asian culture so this is also what you can expect from their food -- flavors, spices, warmth.
Nanyang - The Shops Ayala Triangle Gardens |
Prior to pandemic, I often visit their branch in Bonifacio High Street, whether for lunch, dinner, snacks, or when I need a place to do my work. For one, I find their food not just delicious and comforting, but also affordable! Especially when you're around Bonifacio Global City, you can hardly find a place that can offer a full satisfying meal for less than Php300. The ambiance is also another reason why I often dine here. It is simple yet I find it cozy and relaxing. That is also why I like working here because I can clear my mind and focus on what I have to do.
Nanyang interior - The Shops |
I am glad that I am able to visit Nanyang again, but this time, in their relatively-new branch in The Shops Ayala Triangle Gardens. This is also my first time visiting the area after more than 2 years!
Watch this quick video to have a glimpse of my experience:
The dishes at Nanyang are mainly for one person. So if you're going solo, that wouldn't be a problem at all. Won't be a problem when you're in a group as well as each can just order a meal that he/she wants. Here you can find the best sellers and my personal favorites!
Hainanese Chicken Rice (Php268)
Hainanese Chicken Rice |
Hainanese Chicken Rice is one of my favorites here at Nanyang simply because it is very satisfying to eat. You get a savory chicken which you can even amplify the flavor by dipping on the sauces, a cup of rice, a warm soup, and your veggie.
Hainanese Fried Chicken Rice (Php268)
Hainanese Fried Chicken Rice |
Hainanese Fried Chicken Rice has the same components as the Hainanese Chicken Rice except that the chicken here is fried. So if you're up for crunch and flavor on the breading, this is your best bet!
Laksa Prawn (Php268)

Iced Teh Melaka (Php120)

By the way, if you're wondering what's the difference between the normal Teh (Tea + Water + Evaporated Milk + Condensed Milk) and Iced Teh Melaka, the latter has coconut sugar which gives a different dimension of sweetness.
Kaya Traditional Toast (Php70)
Kaya Traditional Toast |
Kaya Traditional Toast is what I often order when I go to Nanyang for snacks or to work. It looks very simple but the butter, the delicious jam/spread that I haven't tasted anywhere else, and the perfect level of toast (with the grill marks, yass!) are what makes me order this over and over again.
Nonya Kaya Thick Toast (Php70)
Nonya Kaya Thick Toast |
- Any Toast of your choice (Traditional or Thick Toast)
- 2 Soft Boiled Eggs
- Kopi or Teh (Kopi, Kopi O, Kopi C, Teh, Teh O, Teh C)
If you're wondering what the soft boiled eggs are for, well, that is where you dip your toast for an elevated experience! I was hesitant to try it at first but after tasting it, I've never enjoyed my toast way better than this.
NEW ITEM: Chicken Congee (Php188)
Chicken Congee |
New item alert: Chicken Congee! It is warm, filling, and perfect for this rainy season. Try it as well!
