McDonald's Kiddie Crew 2018! |
Our favorite Summer Workshop is still here -- McDonald's Kiddie Crew!
Rhyme is now 4 years old but may not be so fit to do the full 5-day or 2-day workshop as it is designed for kids 6 to 12 years old. But we're glad we got a chance to enjoy a 1-day workshop held for media which he truly had fun with just like last year (see post from McDonald's Kiddie Crew 2017 here: http://www.patchesoflifebyjessa.com/2017/05/mcdonalds-kiddie-crew-workshop-25th-year.html).

Here are some of the activities that you can expect from the Kiddie Workshop:
CHEESE BURGER MAKING
almost done! | finished product! |
The chef's hat and apron are part of the kit. But aside from that, the kids were provided with plastic gloves, instruction cards, and ingredients such as ketchup, mustard, onion, pickles, burger patty, cheese, and buns.
Rhyme can already follow most of the instructions but still need some assistance like in wrapping the burger.
eating his own creation! |
SERVICE STATION
fall in line, Rhyme! | taking orders |
The kids has a quick tour in the kitchen and then divided into different stations. Rhyme cannot reach the counter yet so one of the managers carried him while he greeted the customers, entered the orders, and handed the change.
a warm smile at the drive-thru |
Drive thru customers were delighted to see young boys and girls greeting them through the window. These activities are good ways to be exposed to other people and build their social skills.

DESIGN A HAPPY MEAL BOX
excited to draw! | there's a story in his drawing |
This activity encourages artistry and creativity among kids. They were provided with unfolded happy meal boxes and coloring materials. The kids are free to draw any design they wanted for their very own box.
focused with his drawing |
Rhyme drew a volcano and then a hose of water splashing to the volcano! Haha! You'll be amazed with the minds of young ones.
finished product! |
DANCING WITH RONALD MCDONALD
watching the dance video |
At first, the kids were just following the dance steps on the video. Then there came Ronald to teach them the steps and dance with them!
looking at Ronald |
It's always fun to dance with Ronald especially now that Rhyme is no longer afraid of him anymore. They even had these nice photos!
he's no longer afraid | thank you, Ronald! |
And that's it! We will surely look forward to next year's McDonald's Kiddie Crew!
