I appreciate the Asia's Songbird's singing voice, but I have to admit that I am not a fan... not until I attended the media preview of Jollibee's latest Sweet-Sarap Jolly Spaghetti commercial featuring Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Nate Alcasid as the newest endorsers!

It was a laid-back picnic set up perfect for a wonderful afternoon chitchat as Christine Bersola-Babao hosted the event. Regine and Nate greeted the audience with a wonderful song.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, with her years of experience in the industry, may have done everything -- from being a world-known singer to being a box-office actress, and even a high-rated TV host. But in this afternoon, I saw a different side of Regine. The side that I can truly relate with, and something we share in common -- being a Mom.

Despite the fame, Regine remains natural and bubbly. I love her personality. It's fun to know that just like other moms, Regine also prefers simple bonding moments with her 6-year old son Nate -- story telling before bedtime, playing with toys, going on picnics, and bonding over their favorite sweet-sarap Jolly Spaghetti.

The first time I watched the commercial during the media preview, I was teary-eyed! My tears really wanted to fall but I tried not to cry. I still get the same reaction whenever I watch it. And I know it's not only me who felt the same, especially moms out there. And for Regine, it was the perfect commercial to depict how she managed her career and still take into account her son.

I am also a working mom (in addition to being a single mom), and I can completely relate that every moment spent with my turning-4-year-old son, no matter how simple, is truly special, be it enjoying his well-loved meals, or doing his favorite activities. Seeing the smile on my son's face, the joy and his laughter are even more rewarding than what I achieve at work. Indeed a "Sweet-Sarap na Walang Katulad".
