The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf: Thai Tea Latte, Ice Blended, and more!
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Park Triangle branch |
My visit at the KidZania branch of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf last September 11, 2017 was welcomed with new and exciting drinks -- the Thai Tea Latte and the Thai Tea Ice Blended!
nice and cozy place to hangout |
Before we go to the drinks, I just like to mention that it's my first time to go in this branch. You can find it at the ground floor of KidZania, along 34th Street. It's spacious yet managed to be cozy. At the time I visited, there were not much customers. I'm not sure if that's the usual volume as the location is not so visible, but if it is, then it's a nice hangout place as it doesn't get really crowded.
Thai Tea Latte (hot or cold) and Thai Tea Ice Blended |
I'm don't remember if I have tried Thai Tea before, but if I did, I already forgot how it should taste like. But traditional Thai Tea is made with black tea, spices, sugar, sweetened condense milk, and evaporated milk. In Thailand, it is usually served hot in the morning, and cold/iced in the afternoon when it's already hot and humid.
hot, cold, or ice blended? |
Great news for Thai Tea lovers as The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf has come up with their very own version of Thai Tea. It makes use of the best quality Assam black tea sourced directly from the plantation, combined with sweet condensed milk, resulting to a bolder yet rich tea flavor.

Thai Tea Ice Blended |
First up is the Thai Tea Ice Blended. Of the three variations, this is the sweetest, creamiest, and milkiest. It can also be the safest or recommended option for those who want it to try the first time, or those who aren't into robust teas. But no, it is not overwhelmingly sweet and the tea essence is there. If you still find it strong, it helps to mix in the whip cream.

Thai Tea Ice Blended and Iced Thai Tea are perfect with savory and creamy Roast Chicken & Mushroom Fusilli. This is the first pasta I've ever tried at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Serving size is enough (or even more than enough) for one. It has a creamy texture and evident mushroom taste that complements well the black tea flavor.
Thai Tea Latte paired with Triple Decker Cheesecake |
Thai Tea Latte (small - 150Php, regular - 165Php, large - 180Php)
Thai Tea Latte |
Thai Tea Latte comes in hot or cold. I usually go for hot tea latte, and for this new drink, I prefer the hot version as well. I just feel that the warmness suits the brisk and malty flavor of the tea without making it taste too strong. On the other hand, the cold version, Iced Thai Tea, has hints of sweetness without overpowering the tea essence. The coldness waters down the strength and boldness of Assam black tea.

Hot drinks and cakes go well together. And for the hot Thai Tea Latte, how about some Triple Decker Cheesecake! Soft cheesecake that combines three flavors in one: a layer of mocha, New York, and Oreo cheesecakes. It's perfect for those who likes variety in flavor.
So Thai Tea lovers, grab your favorite Thai Tea Latte or Thai Tea Ice Blended and experience it The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf way!
