Repertory Philippines (REP) makes its 50th anniversary even more memorable by partnering with Ayala Land's Circuit Makati for a very good cause. Selected youth and kids from nearby barangays in Makati will be able to watch the re-run of The Glitter Trap on August 19, 2017 3:00PM at PowerMac Center Spotlight, Circuit Makati for free.

Although based on a young adult novel of the same title by Barbara Brauner and James Iver Mattson, The Glitter Trap's original musical production is about a middle school girl who, all of a sudden, had to take the responsibilities of being a fairy godmother of the most popular girl in school -- all because the fairy godmother was accidentally trapped in her hair! Her journey to fairy godmother-hood wasn't easy but full of key takeaways which both Lacey and the audience can learn from.

I was able to watch The Glitter Trap last June 2017 as part of REP's Teens Master Class wrap up of summer workshops. The cast consists of young talented actors aged 11 to 17. It's unbelievable how they were all able to put up a great show considering their ages.

There are around 22 performers which include Rayne Cortez as Lacey Unger-Ware, Michelle Cornejo as the popular girl Paige, Chez Cuenca as the glitter-loving fairy godmother Katarina, and the youngest yet crowd favorite Stacey Tsai as Sunny, Lacey's best friend.

Directed by Joel Trinidad and Nicky Trivino, book and lyrics by Joel Trinidad, music by Jon Meer Vera-Perez, musical direction from Adonis Tabanda, choreography from Deana Aquino, expect that this show will be filled with music, dancing, and playful atmosphere suited for kids ages 8 and above.

The selected kids from Makati are indeed privileged to have this opportunity and I hope that this show will inspire them to unleash their talents as well, even at a young age.
