Vittorio's: Tomahawk, Seafood Linguine, Desserts, and more!
Vittorio's |
From the outside, and even inside, Vittorio's feels like home. We were told that this restaurant used to be in Kamuning area for about a year. But this new venue in Tomas Morato is way better as it is more spacious, and has parking slots and guard.
ambiance |
The restaurant is not that huge or overly spacious, but it can be likened to a huge dining area. Families or group of friends can comfortably dine and feel at home.
not a huge restaurant but comfortable | there's al fresco area |
Chef Victor Daluz Jr. ensured that we'll have a hearty meal that day. Chef Victor has various experience in America, especially in steak dishes, that he decided to establish this restaurant named after his father, Vittorio.
Below are some of the wonderful dishes in Vittorio's that you must try.
Starters and Mains |
Tossed Green and Spinach Salad with Apple and Feta Cheese in Honey Mustard Dressing (210Php)
Tossed Green and Spinach Salad with Apple and Feta Cheese in Honey Mustard Dressing |
Tossed Green and Spinach Salad with Apple and Feta Cheese in Honey Mustard Dressing -- the name of the dish says it all on what to expect. But really, the feta cheese is what made it standout for me, plus the refreshing vibe brought by the green apple slices.
Tossed Green and Spinach Salad | Pan Seared Hanging Tender with Salad |
Pan Seared Hanging Tender with Salad (385Php)
Pan Seared Hanging Tender with Salad |
When they say Vittorio's is a steak house (and even more than just a steak house), they commit to it. I did not expect that as a starter, we'll already have this Pan Seared Hanging Tender with Salad. But this is a good preview of what we'll have in the main event. Really tender meat topped with glazed flavorful sauce. I prefer not much of the sauce, but when it comes to that, the salad siding is a good addition to maintain the balance.
Buffalo Wings (210Php)
Buffalo Wings |
This Buffalo Wings is perfect for me. Size is relatively bigger than most of the wings I've tried before. It is spicy but not too much as there is slight sweetness that lets you recover from the kick of spice. There's balance in flavor and is overall enjoyable.
Buffalo Wings | Seafood Linguine |
Seafood Linguine (320Php)
Seafood Linguine |
A favorite of mine is this Seafood Linguine. It's not the typical seafood pasta with marinara or strong tomato sauce flavor. I find this pasta dish unique and great with its slight sweetness and a hint of spice. But most of all, the seafood goodness all over this dish is what makes it special.
Fish Fillet Gratin with Rice (270Php)
Fish Fillet Gratin with Rice |
For something light and guiltless, Fish Fillet Gratin can be an option. Fish is soft and good, while the cheese topping is creamy and subtle. If you're with a group and has ordered several flavorful meat or dishes, it's good to have this Fish Fillet Gratin to balance the piquancy.
Fish Fillet Gratin with Rice | Tomahawk |
Tomahawk (1.4 kg) with Family Steak Rice with Mixed Green Salad (3,280Php)
Just when I thought we already had a lot, there came this 1.4kg Tomahawk, which comes with Steak Rice and Mixed Green Salad. This is really a huge-huge slab of meat which can already be shared by 4-6 people, or more if this is not your sole order. If you look at the price alone, it may look expensive, but if you look at the meat portion and have a taste of it, you'll know it's worth it! Very tender medium cooked meat that its natural flavor is just oozing. I also love the garlic hint and the crunchy trimmings on top of this dish. Really a must-try!
Apple Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream (175Php)
I apologize that I don't have much to say about this Apple Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream as it has cinnamon -- and I don't like cinnamon. There are still times when I try desserts with cinnamon just to see if the cinnamon flavor will blend in that I won't be able to notice it all. But for this dessert, cinnamon is very evident, which is common with apple desserts. If you have no issues with cinnamon or you just love apple desserts, it's good to try this new addition to Vittorio's desserts.
Dark Chocolate Cake (168Php)
This Dark Chocolate Cake is moist and rich, though not too "dark" or bitter. Having "dark" in its name may set expectations whereas it can simply pass as chocolate cake -- a very good and enjoyable chocolate cake!
Cookie Dough Ice Cream (140Php)
It is a surprise that Vittorio's has great dessert offerings, which makes it really more than a steak house. The ice cream selections are superb and must-try! For instance is this Cookie Dough Ice Cream -- so addicting! There are chunks of chewy dough and bits of cookies which make the experience even more delightful.
Good Shepherd Ube Ice Cream (140Php)
But my most favorite among the desserts is this Good Shepherd Ube Ice Cream. If you love Good Shepherd Ube or simply love ube, you'll be thanking that this dessert was created! Flavor is on point. It is literally like eating Good Shepherd Ube but in ice cream form. The best ube ice cream I've tried, and way far from the usual ube ice cream you can find in stores. And yes, this is coming from someone who isn't really a fan of ube desserts.
Chocolate Milk Shake (120Php)
Vittorio's milk shakes are also good to try. For instance is this Chocolate Milk Shake that will surely tickle childhood memories. Days when you're having Chuckie or Moo chocolate drink.
Vanilla Milk Shake (120Php)
Vanilla Milk Shake is also nostalgic with its creamy vanilla taste.
Strawberry Milk Shake (120Php)
Strawberry Milk Shake is what I had. Similar to the other milk shakes, it made use of ice cream aside from the ice cream topping. Oh, and the strawberry syrup highlights the flavor.
Overall, it was a great stay at Vittorio's. It was like a Sunday lazy feel and just enjoying great food, yummy milk shakes, scrumptious desserts, and steaks -- yes, mouthwatering steaks!
