Good Life: "Flavors of Fortune: Food Trip Down Chinatown" Chinese New Year celebration!
Good Life: Flavors of Fortune |
Gong xi fa cai! Happy New Year! Since I have a half-blood Chinese son, should I be celebrating Chinese New Year as well? Though yesterday (JAN27), I attended DAY1 of Good Life's celebration to welcome the Year of the Rooster.
With a theme "Flavors of Fortune: Food Trip Down Chinatown", this 2-day Chinese New Year grand food fest held at Robinsons Place Manila Midtown Atrium celebrates joyful moments with family and friends while enjoying good food.
One of the highlights is the Good Life Chinoy Dish Showdown featuring participants from some of finest hotels in Manila. Using Good Life products, the chefs should come up with their very own modern Chinese-Filipino dishes.

It's something new for me that chicken is stuffed with noodles and egg. Filling yet good!

Wasn't really able to taste the "hot & spicy" part as I even taste some hints of sweetness in it. But the egg surprise part is a good one.
Eurotel: Island Cuts Surprise

Despite being a new concept, this dish reflected Chinese cuisine essence which made it stood out for me.

If texture is what you're up for, this will surely provide with its crispy noodles, crunchy talangka, and more!

It was hard to make a pick as all the dishes were flavorful and good. Guests can sample the dishes, make their vote, and participate in activity booths when they purchase any Good Life product/s worth Php 90 in Robinsons Supermarket to avail a Passport to the event.
performance from Chiang Kai Shek College |
Aside from the cooking showdown, there were also dragon and lion dance, performance from Chiang Kai Shek College, cooking demo, and raffle draws!! Expect more of these on the DAY2 (JAN28).
fortune telling | lantern making |
Several activity booths provided opportunity for guests to experience Chinese arts and crafts such as Chinese calligraphy, lantern making, and more. Fortune telling booth was one of the most visited though. Well, who wouldn't want positive vibes and prosperity for 2017?

And speaking of fortune, here are the goodies I've won in a minor raffle draw. And yes, that's just for minor draw. I wonder what were the prizes for the major or grand draw!
