Sabrina's Kitchen: Season 6 Launch

Sabrina's Kitchen Season 6 launch

I usually don't look forward to Mondays but last Monday, May 30, was an eventful night as Sabrina's Kitchen launched its new season at Nuvo Restaurant, Greenbelt 2.

Mark your calendars:
Sabrina's Kitchen Season 6
June 19, 2016 9:30AM to 10:00AM
GMA News TV

Nuvo Chef Xavier Btesh, Basti Artadi, and Sabrina Artadi

We were welcomed by bunches of goodies from their generous sponsors such as McCormick, Anytime Fitness Makati, Reynolds, and Filippo Berio.

A very refreshing cold Rosemary Tea was served to us as the event commenced. It's something I haven't tried before, and it was really good... that good that I had drank half of it before realizing I had to take a photo of it (sorry for that!). Sabrina shared its very simple ingredients: rosemary, coco sugar, and lemon.

Another rosemary-infused drink was Larry Guevara's original concoction: Royal Mojave. He demonstrated how he created this drink using McCormick's dried rosemary, and provided samples to everyone in the crowd. The ingredients are rosemary, rose syrup, vodka, lemon, topped with rosemary rose foam, and garnished with rosemary or basil. It's been years since I graduated from alcoholic drinks but I was really enticed that I had to take at least a sip. And it was good! It captured summer flavors, a bit sweet, yet refreshing. Indeed, a winning cocktail!

Sabrina Artadi, the host of the show, and Chef Xavier Btesh of Nuvo Restaurant showed us how easy it is to come up with gourmet cooking using McCormick's Noodle and Seasoning Mix. Chef Xavier mentioned that they are using McCormick products even in Nuvo.

We were served the Korean Chap Chae and the very Asian Laksa. The Chap Chae was sweet and savory, and I love the flavors on the chicken. The Laksa, on the other hand, had this kick of spiciness which is just right for Filipino taste buds. Had I not seen them using McCormick's Noodle and Seasoning Mix, I would not think that these wonderful dishes came from packets! Makes me excited to try my own noodles using the goodies they provided (though I don't really cook!).

As if the night couldn't get any better, Sabrina's brother, Basti Artadi, just matched the good food with good music. It's been a while since I heard Basti's voice (he's from Wolfgang, by the way).

You might have seen them in Pilipinas Got Talent and their appearance was even made controversial when Larry proposed to Sharleen on TV! This couple ended the night with a blast with their flair bartending. Really entertaining and heart pounding to see it live.

Oh, by the way, these spice containers were given to us for free. These are good for mixing spices and making them ready for any dish you want to spice up.

And yes, I won a 1-month pass to Anytime Fitness Paseo Center Branch! At least they do not only encourage cooking and eating, but they also promote fitness! What a packed and fun-filled night!
