Yabu: House of Katsu

Even though there are now a lot of emerging and existing katsu restaurants, Yabu remains as my first and favorite katsu place. I am happy and satisfied with their katsu set selections, and a big plus on the unlimited rice, miso soup, cabbage salad, and fruits. And... I simply love Japanese food! As if those reasons weren't enough, Yabu expanded their offerings to burgers and more appetizers.

Menchi Katsu Burger (390Php)

Stuffed with creamy cheese, topped with shiso leaves, Japanese pickles, spicy aioli and caramelized onion jam in between toasted brioche buns. Served with your choice of Furikake French Fries or Chicken Salad on the side

Menchi Katsu Burger is the latest in the katsu burger line up. Yabu used to have the Ebi Katsu Burger and the Hire Katsu Burger (I think the latter is no longer available). This burger is really to drool for! Thick patty (was it an inch?) made of ground beef and pork, creamy cheese on the inside, and a lot of going on between the patty and the buns making it an awesome burger experience! I honestly love this more than the katsu set version as it has more yet balanced texture and sweet-spicy flavors. Dears, highly recommended!

Mozzarella Katsu Sticks

Mozzarella Katsu Sticks is Yabu's version of cheese sticks. Of course, it has to be katsu. And yes, it is the best I've tried so far. I guess the crunchy panko and the Furikake made the difference giving the "oomph" in the already crave-able mozzarella sticks.
