I never thought that my UMID application would just take less than 30mins... that is, if you are a senior citizen, disabled, or pregnant (for my case, pregnant). But still, the process was an easy breezy!
Aside from being a "valid ID", UMID is the ultimate card that you can use in transacting with SSS, GSIS, Pagibig, and Philhealth.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Filled up UMID Application Form
- Here's a downloadable form: UMID Application Form
- 2 Valid IDs
Branch: SSS Ayala Makati
Time In: 10:30 AM (There were a number of people but manageable. All were seated while waiting for their turn.)
Fee: None for Initial Enrollment
Time Out: 10:50 AM
WHAT IS THE PROCESS:
- As soon as I got to SSS, I informed the guard about my UMID Application. He asked if I already have the form and 2 valid IDs, and then assisted me to a seat for Priority Lane.
- Verification - You have to present your filled up UMID Application Form together with your 2 valid IDs.
- Photo Capture - Details in the Application Form will be encoded. Thumb and index finger prints (both left and right), as well as your signature will be obtained digitally. This will be followed by picture taking. Ears should be seen, mouth should be closed.
- Don't forget your claim stub! And that's it!
I was advised that my UMID card will be delivered to my home address around 1 to 2 months. Hopefully! But we'll see...
UPDATE:
True to what they said, I got my UMID card even earlier after around 3-4 weeks! I wasn't really expecting it that early. From a no-hassle application to 1 month wait period for delivery, I must say SSS system has really improved. Thumbs up!
