July 05, 2013 marks Moonleaf - The Columns, Makati's first anniversary. And this day didn't pass without a blast! This celebration dubbed as "Moonleaf Beats" was the tea store's way of saying "Thank You" to all the valued customers and tea lovers.

The night was filled with acoustic music with pastries on the sides and of course, cold teas.

I got to try their French Macaron at 30Php each and man, this is heaven! Its filling was similar to yema and I really enjoyed it!

Moonleaf Beats Hakka Milk Tea

For drinks, I had one of their best sellers (next to Wintermelon Milk Tea), which is Hakka Milk Tea at 75Php. Says it was brown sugar though I like the balance of its sweetness. It's creamy and had that slight tea-bitterness that I find it perfect for me. I had nata as add-on at 10Php but I guess pearls would be best to pair it with.

Something worth-mentioning is that their teas are very affordable ranging from 45-75Php (add-ons at 10-15Php). Considering their drinks are freshly brewed and makes use of tea leaves imported from Taiwan, it is indeed great value for money.

As the night passes, we grew a bit hungry and so some sandwiches helped us fill our stomach. I ordered for a spiced ham with garlic mayo sandwich -- actually I can't remember the exact name and I wasn't able to take a picture of it. The more interesting is the one shown above -- Beef Turnover. There were a lot of "breading" at the edges yet I liked the ground beef filling and flavor.

Aside from music and food, there were also raffles and prizes, and photobooth. But the highlight of the night, especially for me, was Ebe Dancel. Yes, there's a fan over here!!

Another yes, that I am into OPM bands, and for years, I have been a fan of Sugarfree, and of course the voice of the band, Ebe.

Listening to their music and my favorite Sugarfree songs made me reminisce the campus concert days and late night gigs I used to go to. And if before I never get to see them up-close, well "Hello there, sir Ebe!".
