Recipes by Cafe Metro: BBQ Chicken with Rice, and Ripe Mango Shake
Recipes by Cafe Metro |
It's a solo day full of activities from tutoring, Zumba dancing, gym-ing, and shopping! Since it was almost late, I opted to go to Greenbelt 3 to look for a dining place. Recipes had their menu posted on tarp and so you can easily see what they have to offer and the corresponding price. They offer Filipino food and mostly are viands for sharing. But I also saw that they have meals which already include rice, sidings, and iced tea at price below 200Php. Just right for a soloista like me.
The interior was simple-plain, mostly-white, and clean-looking. Since it was around 10PM and they no longer have much customer, I was seated in a big table (good for 6 maybe). I didn't find good customer relation among the staff. The way they seated me, took my order, and even when I had to seek their attention, they were so informal. Was it because I was alone and they prioritized the big groups? Hopefully not, but I would not know their explanation.

BBQ Chicken with Rice (plus sidings and iced tea - 175Php)

They offered me the Inihaw na Baboy but I don't feel eating pork at that time so I just went with chicken. It was in the form of strips or fillets so it's easy to eat. It was soft and tasty inside and out but it's still your usual BBQ flavor. I guess it would be best to pair it with achara, but the bean sprout siding was also appetizing and I mixed it with my rice. Serving size was enough for one.
Ripe Mango Shake (85Php)

I wanted a dessert (Dessert of the Day when I went there was Buko Pandan at 90Php) or something refreshing that would cleanse the palate. I opted to have Ripe Mango Shake. It was sweet and tasted like a real mangoes. It's not the milky type, though.
Overall, it was a fulfilling late dinner at Recipes. I hope to try their Best Sellers such as Gising Gising and General's Chicken the next time I come back with some friends.
