Was running out of space from my 160GB Western Digital My Passport Essential. Bought this almost 3 years ago at 3000Php mainly for pictures and Outlook emails backup. Well I thought 160GB was enough for me since I don't download movies or series, but I was wrong. And so the search for a new hard drive is on! :)
These are my criteria for the search:
- 500 GB
- USB 2.0 & 3.0 compatible
- Less than 3500Php
- Portable
*Backup software and color/design are optional.
We roam around Greenhills canvassing every store, and these are what we found: (now I can have a 500GB HD for my 3000Php vs 160GB 3 years ago. hehe)
- WD My Passport Essential (~3200Php)
- Seagate Go Flex (~3000Php)
- Samsung M2 (~2800Php)
- Seagate Expansion (~2600Php)
After considering what I basically need (and mainly the price as well), I go for Seagate Expansion.
Let's start the unboxing...
Box contains the portable hard drive, a quick start guide (I don't find much information on the start guide though), a USB 3.0 cable, and a 3-year limited warranty.
Below are the specifications.
It has a matte finish so less prone to scratches.
