Banapple: Chicken Breast Parmigiano, Salpicao Rafael, and more
Banapple Pies & Cheesecakes |
My work place is at McKinley Hill and having Banapple nearby is a blessing! I've known Banapple for their signature Banoffee Pie introduced by a former colleague who happens to be an Atenean. I loved Banoffee Pie since then but going to Katipunan isn't easy. Knowing that they're expanding and having more branches makes me happy.
Banapple ambiance |
Banapple poses a friendly and inviting place. The mixture of red and yellow on the walls and some pastel colors on the second floor are really pleasing to the eyes and creates a warm environment.

Chicken Breast Parmigiano (200Php)
Tender fillets of chicken breast encrusted in a parmesan crumb picture topped with a rich stewed tomato meat sauce and melted mozzarella; served with glazed butter carrots

I've known Banapple for their desserts, but I never knew they have good rice meals too! This Chicken Breast Parmigiano is a perfect example. Looking at the pictures and even by just writing about this makes me crave for it! The chicken fillets are of significant size, tender, thinly breaded, covered with meat sauce, and topped with melted mozzarella cheese. The combination of the meat sauce and cheese reminds me of lasagna and I really enjoyed it! Even the garlic rice was good with its very evident garlic spice.
Salpicao Rafael (205Php)
Tender cubes of rib-eye steak and sliced mushrooms, perfectly seasoned and smothered in garlic pieces and our special brown sauce; served with glazed butter carrots

Salpicao Rafael creates a beef tapa resemblance. The meat is tender and is marinated in sweet and tasty sauce. The toasted garlic showered in this dish not only provides the element of spice but also adds texture along with the button mushroom slices.
Fudgymudgy Mud Pie (110Php - Slice; 840Php - Whole)

As I mentioned above, I'm in love with Banapple's Banoffee Pie that I do not miss ordering a slice whenever I dine in or take out. But this time, I opted to try something else. The name Fudgymudgy Mud Pie captured our attention.
There may be a lot going on but it is being harmonized by a single ingredient: chocolate! Fudgymudgy Mud Pie is composed of different layers starting with the crust as the hardest part. Then it is followed by a dark chocolate layer, a chocolate mousse, then white cream which served as the softest layer. Lastly, it was topped with crushed cookies, mini kisses, and hardened chocolate syrup. And if your not satisfied with that, chocolate syrup on the side serves as garnishing.
It was a chocolate overload for me but it's chocolate in different forms. It was still a balance of texture and sweetness. The crust can really be hard though.

Banapple would always be a go-to place for me. It's totally a venue for comforting ambiance, meals, and desserts!
